Operator Notes:

The standard pistol in the Soviet Union and now Russian military from it's introduction until only recently. Still found throughout the former Soviet Union and the former Warsaw Pact. An excellent and reliable design firing the communist 9x18 round. This bullet is actually midway between the 9mm short (.380 auto) and the 9mm Parabellum. The Makarov PM design is based upon Walther's popular and highly successful PP and PPK series. It differs from the PPK in that the safety moves the opposite way, the trigger linkage is different and the main spring is a leaf rather than a coil. It is also slightly bigger and has a manual slide lock. The Peoples Republic of China, Poland and former East Germany all made copies of this weapon. The weapons that Matt and Margo 'appropriated' from the North Korean's were of Chinese manufacture.
