The MP5K-PDW (Personal Defense Weapon)
was designed as an aircrew self-defense weapon. It also lends
itself to CQB and VIP Protection Services because of it's compact
size. The PDW is basically the MP5K with a folding buttstock
attached. Though it's barrel is shorter than the SD, it's muzzle
velocity is much higher because the barrel is not drilled. It's
rate of fire is also higher than the A series. The vertical
forward handgrip lends itself to good full-auto control and
keeps your fingers from slipping in front of the short barrel.
This weapon is the premier submachine
gun in the world today. All of the world's major western powers
outfit their counter-terrorist units with this weapon. It is
one of the most accurate submachine guns on the market today.
Extremely reliable. The MP5A1 is the stockless version and the
MP5A2 has a fixed buttstock. There are numerous trigger groups
available for this weapon and include almost endless variations
on Safe, Semi-Auto, Two Round Burst, Three Round Burst and Full
Automatic. The Navy trigger group is ambidextrous and has pictographs
designating Safe, Semi-Auto and Full-Auto. All MP5 barrels have
lugs for suppresser attachment and some, including the MP5N,
also have threaded barrels for attachment of threaded suppressers.
Attaching a suppresser to a MP5N or MP5A series will not make
the fired round sub-sonic unless you are firing subsonic ammunition.
