Operator Notes:

The original Beretta 92 model was produced in 1976 and has undergone continual product improvement from that time. The SB model has an ambidextrous safety and the magazine release has been moved below the trigger guard. An accurate and very reliable pistol. Its high capacity magazine somewhat makes up for the fact that it's shooting a 9mm cartridge. This weapon fires the first shot double action and then goes to single action thereafter because the slide cocks the hammer back. Safety also acts as a de-cocker. Beretta also produces a compact version known as the Model 92 SB-C. A version of this pistol (92 FS) has been produced for the US Military as its standard sidearm and is known as the M9.
